Ranking lists

The ranking lists are compiled of open sources in the best of one‘s knowledge. For the completeness and for the total correctness of contents of the ranking lists cannot be taken over guarantee.

When some ranking lists were compiled (e.g. Olympia, Sports) for furnished performance (e.g. medals, placements) a defined number of points was assigned (e.g. for a gold medal or a first placement: 3 points; for a silver medal or a second placement: 2 points; for a bronze medal or a third placement: 1 point).

In ranking lists compiled of several disciplines (e.g. sports, intellect) corresponding points for the placements in the particular ranking lists were assigned (e.g. 20 points for the first placement, 1 point for the last respectively 20th placement) and then added up. This practise was chosen because of transparency, tracebility and simplicity.

The author is aware, that by comprehension of different grave particular lists (e.g. chess, philosphers, nobel laureats) some kind of falsification can arise with the compilation of the combined ranking lists. This should even aware to the user/reader of the ranking lists. The meaning of the ranking lists is left to the readers discretion. The ranking lists do not claim absolut validity (cf. figures).

The results shown in the ranking lists should not in any way privilege or discriminate a country or nation. The data are of playfully character. Please send us a mail if there are better sources for particular data (compare form to contact us).

Not all countries data could be used. Missing data can be send to us. Please specify the (reliable) source.

The related tabels are not in any case complete. The reference periods were choosen in a way to let await a minimum of falsification. The data are of different actuality. By choosing the data we tried to reach an optimal result in terms of actuality, sustainability and significance.

Please take into account, that european an anglo-american notation of figures differ (e.g. notation of ten-thousand point 00: Europe: 10.000,00; England and America: 10,000.00). Please be aware, that it is possible that - as the case may be - not in every case a correct translation (notation) of figures has been taken place in the ranking lists (e.g. ranking list economic power). In case of doubt have a look at the original ranking list in German (e. g. 46.070 means 46,070.00).
